Deb Calnon
Illustration

Deb was born in the magical city of Philadelphia
and graduated with a BFA in Illustration from the Philadelphia College of Art which became the
(now, sadly, closed) University of the Arts.

 

She spent many of her early years working as a
pre-press/production artist for a wide variety of
print shops and found this background to be an invaluable asset in the creation of illustration work. 

 

As her skills developed, she moved into the world
of Graphic Design and had the good fortune to create work for companies such as Elsevier in Center City Philadelphia, LL Bean and Downeast Concepts in Yarmouth, Maine. It is with Downeast Concepts where she was able to stretch her Illustration wings by designing characters and products for their Backyard & Beyond children’s line (see samples
in the Digital Work section of this website). 

 

Since that time, she's committed herself to finding her own “voice” in Illustration and has accumulated an extensive Portfolio of styles and characters.
She's also written and produced three Picture Books - with ideas for many more - and she hopes to showcase all of her published works on this website in the very near future!​
